The Vienna talks have reached their semi-final round, and all negotiating sides are all waiting for the US political decisions. Iran's top negotiator Ali Bagheri Kani who left Vienna for Tehran on Wednesday night for consultations returned to Vienna on Sunday with a particular work order aimed at achieving particular objectives, including problem resolving in remaining fields.
Iran's Supreme National Security Council in its last session last Saturday reviewed the results of the Vienna talks so far, as just as always stressed the need to heed the Iranian nation’s righteous and legal demands while observing Iran’s redlines.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh in his Monday weekly press conference referred to Bagheri Kani's presence at the Supreme National Security Council session, and said that that council is in charge of the strategic guidance of Iran's negotiating team and is led by Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi.
He said that the required directives were presented to Bagheri Kani on the remaining issues, adding: Unfortunately, the western sides, and especially the Americans, have not adopted decisions on three major issues.
“The remaining issues include those related to the removal of sanctions, the required guarantees, and the new claims on the peaceful nature of the Iranian nuclear program,” he said.
Khatibzadeh said that those issues needed to be resolved within an appropriate atmosphere.
“Every side is present in Vienna to defend their legitimate interests within legal frameworks in the negotiations,” he added.
Adopting political decisions, necessity of a good agreement
Hossein Amirabdollahian, the Iranian foreign minister, a while ago in his Munich Security Conference, said: The Islamic Republic of Iran has participated in the nuclear negotiations seriously and by presenting numerous initiatives, aimed at reaching a good agreement.
“By good agreement, we mean one that its logical, just, and to every side interest, inclusive of authentic verification tests, and the required guarantees about the signed commitments,” added Amirabdollahian.
The unilateral US exit from the JCPOA during the former US president Donald Trump is sufficient proof that the Americans are not trustworthy in respecting the international agreements and easily breach the International rules and regulations.
That is the reason why our country’s negotiating team insists on obtaining reliable guarantees, such as preserving the infrastructures of Iran’s nuclear facilities.
